I can't install the sims 3 from my disk.

I bought the sims 3 game from the store, put it in my disk drive and when my run menu comes up, I select 'run from media'. The only thing it will do then is bring up origin. I installed origin, downloaded the game and it would not install. I try to install the game from my disk without using origin and the installshield wizard will come up but as soon as I accept the license user agreement, the installshield wizard closes and nothing happens. I have contacted origin help twice and ea help five times now and no one has been able to help me. I have tried everything I have found on other posts. Nothing is working. I am extremely frustrated. I just want to be able to play this game.

Then go through this to make sure everything Sims is gone from your computer: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Uninstall

Try this method: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Mass-Effect-3/How-do-I-install-from-disc-without-download/m-p/1384#M22 to reinstall from disc.

Should be the same for Sims 3. Just do the same for Sims 3 instead of Mass Effect 3.

Did you do all of the steps before uninstalling or just the steps after. I have the same problem and am highly annoyed. Please help!!!

What's your operating system ?

Is installing through download an option for you ? If the game is on Origin, you can just download and install it through there.

I swear that EA/ Origin killed the disc or disabled them with patch 1.69. I had to reload my game, and the disc no longer works. I don't want patch 1.69, since most of my cc doesn't work and the game crashes after about 5 mins. I bought the physical discs instead of the downloads so I could control what was going in, but for some reason, I can play a CD, DVD, and a bunch of other games, but TS3 is dead from the disc. Hmmmmmm... Sounds like Apple slowing your iPhone so you'll go buy their new one????
Well, if I can't make it work the way I want it to work (the way it did before 1.69 and my disc no longer being able to install the base game), I guess I'll become one of the many FORMER Simmers out there. Spent 1/2 with an EA tech assist guy. Didn't concern himself with a thing I wrote. Just had me reinstall Origin, which wasn't my complaint in the first place.
