@morphemass If your sim is receiving gifts in the mail, whether from being a celebrity or just because other sims like them (it does happen), those gifts will land in the household inventory. You may see a wide variety items: mostly decorative for the attraction gifts, everything from houseplants to §10,000 sculptures; and just about anything up to and including a §100k car for being a celebrity.
Ty, I do look in my household inventory every time after receiving gifts in the mail but there's never anything there, so I think the gifts that you get from being a celebrity are glitched in my game for some reason. Thankyou though so much for replying, wasn't expecting any replies really, at least not this soon.
@morphemass It's entirely possible this one save is glitched for one reason or another. For example, if a single gift is corrupted, it could bork the whole inventory, or maybe the mailbox. Just as an experiment, you could try using the "sell all" button to empty the family inventory and then see what happens. Or you might move your sims to a new house and test.
To start with though, please delete the five cache files in your Sims 3 user data folder in Documents\Electronic Arts. They should be deleted regularly anyway; while troubleshooting, delete them every time you quit, and quit and reload every time you try something, such as moving your sims or deleting their household inventory.
