I just finished downloading The Sims 3 and upon attempting to install it, nothing happens. After clicking install on the sims 3 it launches instal shield for a split second. After that the install shield closes itself and i am returned to the same page i was originally on as if nothing happened. ("my games") At this point, clicking on the sims 3 only gives the option to install, so it obviously failed.
Community AdminIt is possible that a program on your computer is in conflict with Origin and blocks your installation. Most of the time this is the anti-virus program or the firewall. Read more about that here:

Community AdminIt might be worth restarting your machine with a Clean Boot and trying again.
Even if it doesn't resolve the issue it rules out plenty of possibilities.
