Invalid login/The Sims 3 Launcher Issues

I can log in origin and ea web site but can not log in the sims 3 game launcher I deleted internet explorer and chrome cashes, and reset internet explorer but didn't work. not helpful

    Hey folks,

    Thanks to everyone who carried out the troubleshooting steps and helped us identify the cause of the issues. ❤️The team have investigated it and released a fix. The special characters "#" and "&" in the password should no longer cause login issues for the launcher. 

    Could you try to login again and let us know if the fix works for you?

I'm now having this issue. Though I didn't have it just a couple of months ago. I stayed logged into my account on my computer. Now I'm having to play it off of a laptop and it won't let me log in. I already tried clearing IE and it still wont let me log in. I've been searching and searching for other possible answers and I can't find any. I really feel like if this has been an issue for almost three years, they really should of done a patch on it by now, no?

I know there have been a lot of topics about launcher issues already, but I tried literally everything that is mentioned in them and nothing works.


The issue:

When I try to log in to the launcher, it's just goes back to the login popup in seconds, with all my info still in it. I can click OK for 1, 10 or 100 times, but I can't get past it. I don't know what caused it, I do know I tried to download some store content yesterday, but I'm not 100% sure that is the cause.

What did I try:

  • Deleting IE's cache with the setting 'keep favorite cookies' OFF
  • Resetting IE under the Advanced tab, and rebooting the computer
  • Check IE's proxy settings, they were already off
  • Resetting Origin, and rebooting the computer
  • Resetting my Origin password
  • Using CCleaner
  • Removing cache files from my TS3 Game Folder containing login information
  • Resetting the whole TS3 game folder
  • Reinstalling the Base Game
  • Loading the game without logging in and try to login in-game instead

EA support:

I also contacted EA support agents a couple of times, but they just gave me suggestions on this list and I still can't get in. The support agents didn't mention any problems on their end, but could it be that?

I've been trying for the whole weekend by now, and it's getting really annoying! If anyone has any suggestions I could still try they would be very welcome!
