Is Simport down?
Hey everyone-
So I like to play around with simport sometimes- I didn't have Showtime as a kid, so it's still a neat little novelty for me. And while I know it has a reputation for being rather glitchy, I'm starting to get a bit worried. 2 days ago, I received a request from a friend to host a singer, and I accepted it- I got the pop-up saying that it wouldn't let me edit town or save while I was hosting a sim, would I like to save beforehand, and I saved... and then nothing happened. Usually, soon after the popup, I would get a message saying when and where the performance would be, and a map tag would be over the lot with the scheduled performance while in world view. This time I got none of that. I waited 12 in-game hours before I got tired of waiting and quit without saving- whereupon I noticed that edit town was still disabled, and the game asked me if I was sure I wanted to cancel the performance (that I was pretty sure wasn't gonna happen.) But when I reloaded the game, I opened my simport book and saw that the performance I cancelled was still there, so I tried to accept it again, but I got the same issue, where the game would think I was hosting a sim, and block me from edit town, but still wouldn't actually book a performance. And then another friend of mine sent me a hosting request, and the first friend also sent another hosting request after I told him about the issue... and these issues happened again. For multiple different requests, from multiple friends, in multiple save files. The last time, I even tried hosting in a brand new save file, on the suggestions of people on the NRAAS forum, plus I had the EA app repair my game files in case there was a problem there... and the performance still failed to book! The same people on the NRAAS forum suggested that it's possible EA has suspended the infrastructure for simport, so I'm posting here to hopefully get the attention of a simguru, who I hope will be able to say one way or the other whether that's the case, of if my game is just... very badly bugged. And if it is just a me problem, I haven't been able to find anyone else online who's had the same problems as I have, so if someone else deals with it in the future, the advice I get might also guide them.
