Is Sims 3 compatible with a non-genuine windows 7 on a PC?

I recently purchased 'The Sims 3' PC game and I noticed your PC has to meet a certain criteria. In my case, my laptop is a Windows 7, however it says my Windows 7 is not genuine. Would the game still work on the non-genuine Windows 7? I contacted game about this issue and they replied that it would work, although to check with the producer, but since there's no actually way of contacting EA, this is the only way.

I also have a similar question as I am on a Windows 7 computer and my Windows is not genuine.

Does the black background in desktop affect my game's performance which means it makes my game slower, taking for the loading screens to load slowly, and saving taking forever?
