I'm good Crinrict, thanks for asking. But don't want to tie of your very busy thread. Just trying to help a bit. Also I am having the freeze issue with the patch as is several folks over in the CAW forum who are all working together testing Rflongs new world - it does not seem to matter if one has CC or mods or not - as half of us are Vanilla and half have a few Twallans mods and a few CC CAS type things - which we all - always remove when we update and do not re-add until Twallan says they are updated. I can speak for the others only because I know them well and we often work together testing worlds - but it seems the freezes are the type that actually looks like a long pause - the plumbob will look normal and keep spinning - but nothing else works - each pause seems to last longer and longer until it will no longer unpause and we have to use task manager to get out of the game. I have checked my logs and ran the Sims crash analyzer and it technically shows no crash - it shows nothing at all - but you definitely can't do a thing as far as the game is concerned. Keep in mind this is a Rflong world - so you know darn well it is top notch - no CC and more perfect than EA's. But to verify the freeze is equal - I did test and got the same results now from SSV, Moonlightfalls, Aurora Skies, and Longview II - all of which ran perfectly fine before this patch. All were brand new games too. I have not put any of my previous saves back into my pc yet. All I had to go by was during my reinstall of each ep I tested the ep world as they were installed. They were perfect.
In my case my game is a brand new install not even two weeks old - new harddrive - and I had freshly redownloaded all my store content (the whole store), and all the eps and sps - on disks (DVD). As I had just finished testing two other user created worlds before I got the new patch as well as Downloaded and Played Dragon Valley with no issues what so ever - I am sure it is the patch causing this. Some on that thread are also reporting the jump bug with the bartender bars from LN as well. So as far as I know those are the two issues a good number of us are getting on that thread. I know just one tester so far has had no issues or at least she has not reported any and I am sure she would if she had any as she is technically challenged and always asks us if something is normal if she gets a new issue, and hasn't so far.
It might be she has not played the game enough hours as this beast seems to get worse the longer one plays in the world. Oh and we all have the added TMP files in the DCCache folder and are assuming that is EA's backup so people will stop losing the store purchases from their games. It is definitely creating a sluggish launcher - no doubt about it.
If it helps most of us are running 64 bit pcs with 6-8 gigs of ram, our OS is either Windows 7 or Windows 8; our pcs are all mainly built for us - high end either Icore 7 Intels quad core and or AMD PhenomII quads - with any where from 4 to 8 processors - we have no slouches testing for sure - most are desktops built 2 years or less.
The ones using Twallan mods pretty much have the same mods - Overwatch, MC, SP,-all - Errortrap, Traveller (some have) of the ones who have mods which is about half of the testers. All are the updated and all know enough to reset their Sims 3 folder before they update - so everyone in this group has done it all properly. 4 of us I am positive - including me have Vanilla only games. Same issues.
Okay I hope that helps in your findings. If I missed anything let me know.
Also after two days of the freezes with each growing longer the longer we play - I for one cannot even test that world any longer or any I have tried, as it goes into a freeze that will not come out of within seconds of getting into our games. It does not matter either if we added the patch before we started test - which I did as I was still testing another world - or if they had been testing when they installed the patch - which at least 3 had done. The freeze is the same.
I am considering another reset of the Sims 3 folder - other than that I don't believe there is nothing else we can do until the game actually gets here. We are hoping that installing the ep will stop this.
