(MAC) After deleting Sims 3, I can no longer use my registration code to redownload it!

So I was experiencing some problems with Sims 3 on my Mac OS X, and I decided to delete it and reinstall it. I stupidly didn't think to use the uninstaller, and instead I selected all Sims 3 files on my Mac, and moved it into my trash bin. From there I emptied the trash, so the files are no longer there.

I tried to reinstall Sims 3 using the CD, and it was working until I had to type in the registration code. I typed in the registration code, but the button that read 'continue' was not available for me to click. Usually, if the registration code is okay to use, it will allow me to continue.

Does this mean that I have to get a new registration code? If so, how would I go about doing that?

You really cut diown on your odds by not posting in your game's dedicated The Sims 3 forum here on Answer HQ.  That's where the game players you want advice and suggestions will be found on AHQ.  This is a Game Players' self help website with many game player forums for many EA games.  This forum that you chose is only for the much less popular EA games.

    Hi

I've pasted some instructions below on the best way to uninstall. Although you have deleted the TS3 folders instead of using the Uninstaller, you may need to look manually for The Sims 3 files and transgaming files on your computer. Be aware that there are TS3 folders in both Applications and Documents on the hard drive, so if you deleted one but not the other, look at both. You may be having problems with your new installation simply from not cleanly uninstalling the first installation.

Once you have the game installed again, if you need help with your original issues (those that made you uninstall everything!) let me know.

    Uninstall/reinstall instructions

When you uninstall TS3 games on your Mac using the uninstaller, the game leaves behind stray files and isn't completely removed from your computer. These files may conflict with future installations. It is best to completely remove them. BluebellFlora's website provides a guide on how to do this:

    http://bluebellflora.com/the-sims-3-on-a-mac/how-to-do-a-clean-uninstall-and-reinstall-on-a-mac/

After cleanly uninstalling, install the base game and patch it up to date. If you cannot update via the Launcher, download and apply the latest cumulative manual patch (called the superpatch) for Mac.

Check that your game works properly. Then install any EPs and SPs that you own, in order of release date.
