[MAC] Saving problems

When I want to save my game, it never finish saving (had been wating for over half an hour when it happened first). The only way I can quit Sims is by closing down the computer, and then the game is not saved. I have been trying different ways to save it (save and quit or only save) but nothing helps. What can I do to fix the problem? I have a MAC by the way.

    Hi

First of all, to save your game always use the "save" or "save as" options. Don't use the combined "save and quit" as this tends to get stuck.

Secondly, save frequently. I save once per sim day and always before going into CAS, for example.

Third, play in windowed mode or, if you hate playing in a window, at least switch into windowed mode before saving (to do this you press cmd-return). This will ensure that you can use the "force quit" option to shut down the game manually if it freezes. This is better than just switching off the computer, which ultimately will not do your hard drive much good.

Finally, but importantly for Mac simmers, purge your RAM before saving.

See BluebellFlora's guide on how to do this: http://bluebellflora.com/the-sims-3-on-a-mac/resetting-ram-during-gameplay/
