medical journal unusable

My medical Sim (level8) can no longer read her journals-the ones she comes home with every day after work.  Her "reasearch" emoticon is getting sadder and sadder and I'm afraid that she'll never get ...

    Did you try resetting the Sim or moving him out and back in via edit town ?

    Sorry this took too long-real life intervened-and then I had to get her husband back from Egypt,but when all was copacetic, I reset her.  Her journal disappeared from her inventory.  She went to work and I hoped she would come home with a new one;but,even better, she got promoted to Level Ten!
