Moving

I own several houses. How do I move one of the kids out and still be able to control them? Or are they gone for good?

@chelleandjayden if you moved them out, you would not be able to control them along with the current household. You could control them if you switched to them as the active household.

What I tend to do is to purchase an additional lot and then simply control the kids to live on one lot and the remaining family members on the other.

once you move a Sim out you do loose control if you have not moved the Sim out yet is when you launch your game save it then do a save as new name then move out the Sim you want to move once the move has finished and the sim is in their new home go to edit town find the house he/she moved into then switch to play with that household once you switch to that household  save the game again with a save as new name basically bottom line is you'll be having different saves to play
