I recently tried to download new pieces of CC for my Sims 3 game y'know, as most do, but when I go in to try and download them, a black box shows momentarily before it disappears, and nothing is downloaded. Same goes for launching the actual game, but it's a black screen. I've tried EVERYTHING from the forums, closing the apps on the taskbar, repairing the game, and even uninstalling. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. Thanks :3
bellychel7 As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you open the launcher, if it opens, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.
If this works, you can try installing a Store item into the new folder. It's very possible some of your custom content broke the old folder, in which case the game should work fine once you've removed it.
If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
