MY SIMS 3 WONT UNINSTALL HELP!!!!!!!!!

Ive had the sims 3 for about a year and a half and ive had NO problems at ALL but when the new patch for sims 3 university life came out i forgot to update it and then installed Ambitions then a few days later i tried to update my game but it said a error accoured juring the process so i tried 4 more times it still didnt work so i went and tried to uninstall all my expansion packs and the base game so i could reinstall them again but it wont leet me uninstall them when i go to controll pannel and hit uninstall on any of my expansions and base game this pops up  an error 5005.0x80070002 then it says below that : please make sure you have finished any previous setups and close other aplications, sims 3 is my all time favourite game please help i dont know what to do it also wont leet me EVEN PLAY THE GAME NOW please help thanks for your time x
