My Sims celebrity stars won't show up!

I just reinstalled my game about a week ago for a different problem, but this time all my Sims in the neighborhoods do not have stars. Even the ones I know are famous. And also I can't get my Sims promoted in the acting career. No one is a celebrity. I did not change my demographics either so I do not know what is going on.
