no cd key, pack errors, and unknown error?

So I first re installed the sims and downloaded all of my expansion packs. Firstly two of those expansion packs (supernatural, and seasons) both had no product code and just said no cd key. Secondly once I had downloaded all packs and installed each of them, when I ran the sims none of them would work they showed up in the sims folder and if once I clicked on into the future it was the only one I could play so I messed around with it and just deleted them all and re dowloaded it to see if maybe it had installed weird. then once I had reinstalled again it did the same thing again where none of them showed up. Then I decided to delete and resinstall the 3rd time and after that the sims 3 wouldn't even open and every time I tried to open it it would say "unknown error" I deleted and reinstalled twice again and it just kept saying that. All I want is to be able to play my sims 3 with all the packs I own. Please help!! (also I have an older Mac book pro, I recently started using it as it was my moms but it dowloaded sims 4 just fine?)

  • @theogowhoa  Please list all the packs you'd like to install.  Some of them need extra help to get installed properly (or they cause an unknown error), but it's easier to describe what to do if I know exactly which packs are involved.

In the interim, please do a clean uninstall of the entire game.  The regular uninstall process doesn't remove some hidden library files, and those can prevent the game from launching normally going forward.

Install the base game only, no packs, and run the Super Patch to manually patch to 1.67.  The launcher doesn't do a thorough job of patching on its own.

Launch the game to make sure it works; let me know if you get an unknown error here.  But you can ignore the server error—it will resolve after you install almost any pack.

@theogowhoa  Okay, let me know whether the base game only works first.  If it doesn't, that has to be addressed before anything else.  But again, the server error is nothing to worry about.

@theogowhoa  Please do another clean uninstall, then install into a new user account on your Mac.  Make it an admin account, and one that doesn't have any special characters in the name.  Install the base game only again, and run the Super Patch, specifically the digital download version (Region 17), before trying to launch the game.
