I was having trouble with no sound for the singer, but when I turned the Audio Mixing quality (I think that's what it was, it's on the Sound tab) from Low to Medium I could hear everything with no problem. Try playing around with that slider and see if it helps.
I have suggested this to everyone who has come into this thread looking for assistance, but unfortunately, it is mostly being reported as ineffective for the majority of players affected by the no sound bug. But thank you for taking the time to post your experience with adjusting the audio configuration. I need all the data and information that I can get my hands on. :)
