Here are my own observations:
The first time the bug occurred it was after about 2 hours of playing. Going to the main menu and back into the game (with saving) got the sound back just fine but than I had two large freezing moments (about 1 min). It happened twice more, once it corrected itself the other time I had to go back to the main menu again.
I think it has something to do with a corrupt sound (like the children's bike sound) that causes the sound to go off. This could be anything really from a jingle to a song to a sound effect.
I've updated my graphic drivers today, my sound card drivers seem up-to-date.
I have this: IDT High Definition Audio CODEC on a HP computer, was not logged in and noticed the singer have no sound. Did not check the rest. Vanilla game with Store Content.
Thank you for taking the time to add your information to this thread.
It's funny that you should mention the two hours mark. That is one small thing that I have noticed about a lot of the reports that I am reading. If the issue wasn't occurring right from the start, it seems to begin affecting people's games around the two hours and fifteen minutes mark. Not of great importance, but just something interesting that I thought I should note.
On the bright side, I finally got in touch with EA yesterday and will post about that shortly. :)
