Oops Deleted social worker

So, I got distracted after remodeling my house, and my pet's social was too low. I was actively trying to fix the social and the social worker came to take the cat for neglect @_@. But I thought I would be sneaky and had the brilliant idea to delete the social worker, and the social worker's car. Only problem is, now my pet is stuck on 'waiting' mode, thinking the social worker is coming. It's kinda breaking my heart, because I am forced to just watch the animal decay, it's needs unmet. Which is not something I think I can stomach. I tried forcing visitors, like forcing the social worker to come to 'adopt a pet' or just come in general, but it isn't working. I thought maybe I had fixed it when the cat finally moved after I forced a generic visitor, but no dice. What do I do? The only option I can think of is to exit the game without saving, but I worked so hard building/editing my house, and I would lose all progress on it @_@

in case anyone wondered, I used the cheat "testingcheatsenabled true" to delete the social worker, via mailbox.

  • Fix Options (in order of least to most drastic)

    1. Use “ResetSim” on your pet:
Open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C → type:

    resetsim [Pet’sFirstName] [Pet’sLastName]

    Example:

    resetsim Mittens Smith

That should cancel the “Waiting for social worker” action and free your pet.

    2. Force the social worker to respawn (NRaas):
If you use NRaas MasterController, do this:

Click on any sim or city hall → NRaas > MasterController > Town > Reset Everything
This rebuilds missing NPCs (like the social worker).
👉 Download link if you don’t have it: NRaas MasterController

Optional add-on: NRaas Overwatch helps automatically clean up deleted NPCs and stuck scripts.
    👉 NRaas Overwatch

    3. If it still doesn’t clear up:
Save your current build to the library (so you don’t lose the house), then:

Exit without saving the broken session

Reload your previous autosave or backup

Place your saved house lot back in

That way, your build progress is safe, and the household state resets properly.

Tip for the future: Never delete service NPCs directly — The Sims 3 scripts tie them to in-progress interactions. If they get deleted, it can soft-lock sims or pets like this.

    Hope this helps! 💚
You should be able to save the household without losing your hard work.

You may be able to remove the cat from the household with the help of another Sim (edit town) and then add it back again (without cheating).
Have you tried the cheat “resetsim...” and the name of the social worker? Or same way resetting the cat? That would be easier.
