Did you ever fix this? My macbook pro is doing the same exact thing with Origin and I can't take it anymore.
I had this problem but then i fixed it by going HD/Library/Application Support/Origin/ Then I deleted the download cache and the sims 3 in Local Content then redownloaded the game and it installed fine. Hope this helps!
