Overheating

My computer is getting very warm (over 100C) while I am playing.  I have a Predator FrostCore that is supposed to stop this.  Any game settings I can change to help lower the temp?

Thank you!

  • @HippieWiccan13 Over 100 degrees c is getting into the worry zone. The Predator FrostCore is a nice marketing item but really doesn't live up to the hype. It is a fan that goes into the dvd bay and really has no ducting to cool the thing that need to be cooled. Make sure you are using the laptop on a hard flat surface and not blocking any vents. Unfortunately gaming laptops tend to be gaming lap burners. The words gaming and laptop don't belong in the same sentence as they contradict each other. Laptops are designed to conserve power to extend the battery life and gaming components consume more power then a student/business laptop would normally use which will use more energy (less battery time) and produce more heat. Laptop manufacturer's produce what people want and the problem is most can't engineer a good cooling system for mass produced laptops.

Acer has been buying the competition - they bought Gateway/eMachines, Packard Bell, and a few others. The problem is they buy companies that get known to delivery sub quality machines.
