@GreenPiratez I can see the Alder Lake-related errors in your dxdiag, so it's good that you found the related workarounds. For now though, try forcing Sims 3 to run in windowed mode. Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, open Options.ini, search for fullscreen , and set it to 0 (zero).
By the way, is there a reason you're running your ultrawide primary monitor at a 1920x1080 resolution? Since its native resolution is 2560x1080, Sims 3 might be having issues with whatever translation is happening for the monitor to display at the lower resolution. Older games don't always respond well to this, or to nonstandard resolutions in general.
Normally, if windowed mode works, it's fine to switch back to fullscreen mode while also changing the in-game resolution to match the monitor. But even if 2560x1080 technically works in-game, in that Sims 3 loads properly, you may not like the results: CAS in particular is scaled to width and therefore cuts off the top or bottom of the sim. So windowed mode might be the better way to play long-term too.
Thanks! I'm going to retry again. The issue I had last night was 1. The ea servers were down so I had to stop troubleshooting for the night, which was very frustrating. Now today, after not doing anything else, I had installed 1 world after getting the "minimized issue" which I also suspected it could be a screen issue. For that I'm kicking myself for not changing it the first time. And so, now the launcher doesn't do anything at all.
I cannot get the TS3 to launch as before, I'm getting the same issue - click ea, - click icon on desktop OR game inside ea launcher - ts3 launcher opens - nothing happens. (Now I have done this with the ea launcher, the desktop icon, the alder lakes icons and nothing opens anymore)
I did try to put my desktop icon as admin, and then alder lakes it and it gave me a framework error, which I have now repaired. However, I had uninstalled my game completely..again to see if I can get this to work. So now I am reinstalling it again. I found that if I only installed the base game, it wouldn't install all 20 expansion packs, Supernatural wasn't giving me an option to download like everyone else, I wasn't getting a "pending download" the button was just wasn't there. The only way I have found to get Supernatural to install is by clicking download + 20 games.[Perhaps after this download, if it happens again again..this doesn't work, I could just click + games and click Supernatural, and let the base game and that 1 expansion download? who knows..]
In any case, redownloading again again..for the 10th time (lol) and I'll make sure that alder lakes are installed and send another dxdiag. If the screen opens cool! If not, you'll see a reply here shortly.
Thank you for your help in advance!
**Also, the reason my screen runs that big is what my screen size is, it's bigger lmao so that might be why the game is like DANGER! TOO BIG**
