@GreenPiratez Rather than usint the .NET Framework repair tool, it's more effective to uninstall and reinstall the framework entirely. First though, please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Next, hit Windows key-R, enter "appwiz.cpl" without quotes, click "Turn Windows features on or off," and you'll see .NET 3.5 near the top of the list. Click the filled-in box to uninstall, then restart your computer. Repeat the process, except now you'll click the empty box to reinstall, and restart again.
Please repair Sims 3 itself in the EA App before trying to play, and instead of using the Alder Lake patch or the PowerShell method, please try the Task Manager method. It's the most inconvenient fix for the Alder Lake issue but also the most reliable.
I did everything else and it still doesn't launch. I don't know what you mean by launch it by task manager, but I tried the button inside of the EA launcher and it opened TS3 launcher once more, was able to click play, but it goes back to not opening the game again. So little progress?

@GreenPiratez Right, it looks like we're back to the original Alder Lake issue. The Task Manager method is covered in this post:
The video also demonstrates that and another method of running the game; the information you want starts at 5:30.
If the Task Manager method works, you can try the Alder Lake patch again, applied to TS3.exe. But make sure the EA App is closed and the EABackgroundService is NOT running in the Task Manager. And if you use a third-party antivirus, disable it temporarily, just long enough to run the patch and launch Sims 3 once. Some programs block the patch because it's trying to modify a file within Program Files even though it's safe.

The task manager one worked and had some weird windowed screen thing. Reapplied the Alder Lake patch, but when launched I now get the .dll program error.
Should I reinstall DirectX 9 again to fix this?

@GreenPiratez Normally this happens because a third-party antivirus is running and flags the Alder Lake patch as malware. If you didn't disable your antivirus, that explains the issue. If you did, then I'm not sure what happened, but either way, you can repair Sims 3 in the EA App to return to its default state. From there, you can try the Alder Lake patch again, this time without any security software running; or you can go back to the Task Manager method, which should work again.

I will say that after reinstalling Alder lakes, I can no longer do the task manager workaround.
