Pets keep resetting

What it says in the title really.

My pets just do not want autonomy. They will do stuff if I make them but they just keep resetting everytime an autonomous action comes up in their 'queue'. It is there for a split second and they just stop which to me looks like they're resetting as they stand stiff for a moment after reset.

And no it is not mods as i've started the game with and without them. Issue still remains.

I've repaired, uninstalled, reinstalled the game and i'm quite frankly fudged off with this. I seem to spend more time trying to fix the damn game than actually playing it.

So if anyone has any solutions out there they would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
