plantsim/human baby please help????

I have a plantsim male and a normal sim female and I had them try for a baby I heard the jingle but there is no seed and when I scroll over enroll in university on her phone and it says she's pregnant I'm super confused and Google is no help can this actually happen SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!
