Just an FYI for any sims players looking for clarification. Since the latest update, patch1:69, it is no longer an option to play without continuous internet, you can go to offline mode but must still be connected to EA(origin) via internet. This is what I was told when I called CS.
nope not for me i disconnect from the internet launch my game Sims 3 or 4 depending on what I'm in the mood to play the Origin launches i log in with my email and password it's an offline login and play my games
some games do require being online at all times because your connecting to the game servers
