Try resttetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/
You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
i tried to do it but i have no options.ini file in my sims3 backup folder...i'm really confused...
do you have one called options ? The extension might be hidden.

Don't worry. It will be recreated when you start the game. Only problem is that you need to re-set your options.
Just skip the step.
