PS3 Collection Helper

I need help with the collection helper in PS3 for Sims 3. So, I saved up 500 challenge reward points to buy the "Collection Helper" for 500 points. I do all the necessary things and get it into my inventory, however I notice that flags or map icons do not show up on the "Town Map" (often referred to as "the map") People have claimed that you need to be selecting one of the (4) choices in the Collection Helper's guide thing for the map icons to work. However I cannot find a way to access my Sims inventory without the game pausing (automatically or manually).

Is there a difference between the Collection Helper on the PS3 vs. the Collection Helper on the PC? I also find that anyone in my family can use the Collection Helper even though the forums I've read claimed that its limited to use of one person. The icons on the map they claim to show up does not show and never has shown up on my PS3, although the shiny light still appears showing me that the item I'm looking for is there BUT I can't see from the map.

Below is what I tried so far:

1. Moving the Sims to a different house and trying this.

2. Contacting EA sports. - Was on hold for 1hour and 7 minutes with no response.

3. Trying this from a new save.

4. Retrying the procedure.

5. Quitting my game and going back to it.

6. Rebooting my system.

7. Trying this on a different sim.

I'm so lost right now. Everyone is saying it should be on the map. I need help. 😕mileysad:
