Quick question on a gardening sim

i have a sim that gardens and pretty early in the game he got the quest to deliver eggs and cheese to the diner (I think the reward is planting steaks and patties)

Well, I ran out of time (or maybe I cancelled it, I cant remember) and didn't have the eggs and cheese. So I figured it was no big deal, the quest would reappear after a while. And 60 days later, the quest has not appeared again.

I got my sim a rejuvenation potion so he is young again, but how long should I wait before I consider this sim glitched and give up on it?

    The opportunities are really all pretty random. 

    If you're not opposed to mods, I think MasterController has an option to trigger the opportunity you need.

    Well, think of it as getting past an issue.

    It's not cheating. You'll still need to do it.
