Is there an ETA? I’ve been waiting 2 weeks and searching for fixes but nothing has worked. I really want to play my game ☹️
- @EA_Cade I don't consider myself to be extremely good at tech issues, including looking at error reports in files and things of that sort but I found something in my EA error logs that kind of raised a red flag, I'm not sure if this is relevant for any of these issues but in my error log it had multiple statements starting with "Ignored entitlement because status is not active" , "Failed to find owned game data for:", "Unable to locate base slug for Entitlement" Like I said before, I don't really know what all of this means in the grand scheme of things but to me it seems like the app is unable to find the "entitlements" to my EPs. I know I have them, because I spoke to a live agent 2 days ago and he confirmed that I do have it. Maybe these phrases from my error report can help.

Are you serious? Look, I know you are just the ComMan and the poor soul that is collecting the complaints and forwarding them to the responsible departments (working myself in B2C and tech support) and I don't blame you for the ongoing crisis but that is your answer? Under investigation? Of course it is under investigation, it would be weird if not! We don't want "under investigation", we want results here! This problem has been around for weeks, for some people even half a year since july and you still have no clue or solutions to offer? What is going on inside EA? You have the people, resources, everything so don't give us the sorry excuse that this is "under investigation". People have paid money for your products and services (and quite a lot since EA has a shady price policy and is greedy) and now we stand here with our pants down.
- @EA_Cade i don't want to hate on you, im very grateful for your games but can ea team do something and stop telling us the issue is under investigation? We were waiting for it almost 2 weeks but ea team found this as a problem only from October 26, (that's what they told me on the hotline)

I know that some of you are good at helping out, but many people in your customer service are honestly not that great at all. I also feel that when you work on a Launcher, you should make sure every game on it works without issues. I've never known any other game Launcher to be this buggy and this absurdly hard to use ever. It also does feel like you're being cheated out of your money when you spend your hard earned cash to buy something, only to more or less get the middle finger when trying to play it. Any update
Yeah you guys may be aware but you probably don't even care. This does count as scamming as we aren't allowed to play/download our DLCs that we spent our money on. This issue probably wont be fixed for months or maybe a year knowing EA. Fixing this should be a piece of cake and could be done in less than a week but its been a month and no progress has been made at all. At least make it able to download through Origin until you guys have managed to fix this broken EA App bug instead of forcing your customers to wait until you actually care to fix an on going issue.
What the * are you doing EA? It's been months now! Is this your understanding of "as soon as possible"? Is this your work ethic? I'm pissed at this level of incompetence. Bring back the game already!

We paid for this. Spent hundreds on this game. We expect you to do SOMETHING and do it ASAP.

I'm also having this problem. I can't believe EA are just leaving us hanging on games we have already paid for. I can dl the base game and SOME of my packs, but not all of them. If EA want our $$ for S5, they might want to stop driving off lifelong customers. ☹️ I can't imagine buying the new one when they don't support the games we have already bought.
how is it even possible that EA has not solved this problem. in my opinion the sims is one of the greatest games they have ever released. and then you can't even give the service to your customers to help them but only deliver a copy paste message to all of us. I hope something happens soon, it can't be right that they don't have a solution. the easiest thing would be to get us all back to origin and do that so we can download our stuff. since they know they work.
i'm really disappointed with ea's way of handling thisI've been watching this thread for about a month now when the issue started for me and I'm beyond flabbergasted with how long it's taking. In my opinion, it does seem like maybe they're working on it as when I try downloading packs now, I don't get the "something went haywire" message anymore, it just doesn't download my packs, but regardless, this problem should've been fixed by now.
Not only are we having problems too, but aren't people having trouble with other games not being able to install add-ons like Battlefield and a few others? And some friends have told me that there's a really annoying bug with TS4 that's ruining their sims' relationships. All of these issues and EA is yet to fix any of it. All we've gotten is the same copy-and-pasted message and no real change has been done.I love TS3 to death so I won't give up on this until it's fixed, but this is ridiculous and they should know by now that sitting around reluctant to fix the issue will only make us more upset.

@mercysk0sh The team that fixes in-game issues, for example the problem with excessive mean interactions in Sims 4, is completely separate from the team(s) that deal with downloading issues. I don't know that they even work together with any regularity.
As for the copy-paste responses, I'd also venture a guess that the EA employees posting here don't have any insight into the programming side of things, that they don't actually know what the issue is beyond the basics. The customer support reps certainly aren't going to know anything.
This is not to dismiss your frustration. I totally understand and would be just as upset if I didn't already have my game installed and running. All I'm saying is, I don't know what else the EA employees who post on this site could reasonably offer than sympathy and assurances that the problem has been reported up the chain.
As a side note for anyone else reading, I've been flagging the technical info that a few players have reported here, and my understanding is that it's been passed along as well.
^I really appreciate what you've been doing, I've been following this thread for weeks and weeks now and still haven't came up with my own solution but I'm glad to see that you have been trying to help people on a weekly basis. Checking back in another week to see if there's any break throughs.

I wanted to give an update on the thread. I was optimistic as I do have all my expansion and stuff packs now after the EA app made an update a few days ago (I don't know if that actually was what fixed it, but it was right before I loaded my game and saw the packs there), all 18 of them in addition to the base game (I think there is 18 including the stuff packs bought directly through the Origin site). A few, maybe 4 or 5 of the store items downloaded after numerous times trying to install them all, and I don't know why exactly it was only a few. I have about 19 pages of items on the Sims 3 store, some are free, but most I bought. So I haven't been able to download anything from the store since those 4 or 5 store items downloaded. Through the launcher, after loading them again directly from the store, they show as success in the download screen. But they aren't in my game. I always delete my cache files, saves I don't need, and temp files, then restart my computer before restarting my game. The store items are never there. It is so frustrating. It is great that I have my expansion packs, I just wish they would fix the launcher so our store items and store worlds would download.
What i wish would change is at least the transparency. at least tell us they dont know whats going on. or tell us what they THINK is going on, but EA is just leaving us in the dark with the occasional "we are working on it" whenever someone points it out. and its extremely frustrating. i cant afford to just buy all of it again on steam. a lot of people dont want to spend more money. I'm just incredibly upset i cannot play this game. ive been stalking this thread for about 2-3 weeks now. ☹️
This is my first post on any EA forum, and I too have been following this thread - although now with an ever increasing sense of pessimism.
I know I had to turn off overlay in the EA app to get store content (or any other CC in Sims3pack format) to even install via the launcher. Removing the option to download packs via Origin is also a bad move IMHO, because at least that may have been an option as a workaround.

@GaryW23 yeah, i feel really left out and like.. "blocked" by ea. it feels unfair that we all suddenly got the game ripped away and have no real updates as to whats going on.
@paintedneonI'll restate again it's really interesting they haven't pulled any of the listings for the DLC - something that does run afoul of various consumer protection laws around the world.
@NineDog This is what i was thinking, surely EA cant just treat its customers like this...
Mistakes can always happen but when you pull something like this one can atleast expect some kind of update(s) on the progress at hand.
Dont get me wrong, i am not new with EA and its greedy mentality... this is the main reason why i almost never buy a game with EA's name on it, Sims is prety much the only one.
What i am getting at is this, cant we get this to a higher authority or something..? surely..
