Re: Sims 3 Store Content Will Not Install on New EA App

@hannashaven  Did you also try installing the store content into a clean user folder, as described in the last post in that locked thread?  If not, that's the next step.

If that doesn't or didn't help, the next step is to try downloading with a different browser than your usual one, for example Firefox works well with the store.  Please use another clean folder for this test, just to be thorough.

@puzzlezaddict Trying a different browser worked with the clean folder! I tried the clean folder about three times last night but hadn't thought to try it using a different browser. Thank you so much! You're amazing! You've solved tons of my game issues! I hope EA can get a handle on this soon.

I'm having the issue where the ea app says I own Roaring heights and monte vista, but won't download or install; I go to the sims 3 store (regardless of browser) and it shows I don't own it, when I do own it; I've always had issues where the store tells me I don't own a pack I bought payed for and have played previously. How can I install these worlds when the ea app doesn't have a download feature for these? and restarting my pc, as well as clearing cache on the ea app don't work as I've tried it many times.

@freakyteen21  When you bought Roaring Heights and Monte Vista, you should have one email receipt for each purchase, which in turn would have had product codes for you to register on the Store site.  Did you receive the emails, and if so, did you register the codes?   Not doing so would explain why the worlds show as owned in the EA App but not in the Store.

@freakyteen21Store content can be downloaded while in game. Open the game and in the load game screen and further click the optiond (...) and click Open Downloads Dashboard. In live mode there is an option Player Profile and Wall. Most features (but not all) of tnesims3.com is available in game now. If you bought the content from the store or the app may (probably) won't get an email but the item will probably say you own this. Another thing to check if you bought the item from EA is your EA account purchase history. Packs may have to be installed from the EA app. click manage next to play and click manage add-ons.

@roberta591  If the Store site thinks someone doesn't own content, it also won't be downloadable from within the game.  That's just how it works.

@puzzlezaddictThe thesims3.com site hasn't worked right for months. Like I said and I'll repeat you can do almost all thesims3.com stuff in game and I'm willing to be thesims3.com will go away sometime so get used to using the Open Downloads dashboard and manage/manage add-ons. IT WORKS!!!

@roberta591  The Store site works fine for me and has this entire time.   And I've only seen sporadic reports of it being broken, so it's clearly not completely unusable.  But even when it doesn't work, it does remember what people own.

Again, if the Store site doesn't "know" that someone owns the content, the in-game interface will also not know and won't list that content at all.

Also, the in-game interface is clunky compared to the Store and lists every single item separately from the sets they belong to.  So installing via that interface would result in double or triple copies of most items, plus it would take a lot longer than going through the Store site.  It's not a good solution for anyone who can use the Store itself.
