I don't know if it was the new Windows 10 update, or maybe Origin installed my games wrong, but I had talked to a guy from EA last night and he said I had an awesome graphics card and there was no issue there, then he made me download something off the internet. That didn't work. My sims3 game is still crashing. Do I uninstall then reinstall my games again to fix this problem? So sad... What do I do folks?

I've moved your post to the Win 10 help thread
- Please post a complete dxdiag of your issue. Either upload it to a site like pastebin and then link it here or post in in a spoiler tag (spoiler tag is next to the strikethrough button in the text editor) to keep the thread tidy
- How far do you get?
- Are you getting any error messages - if so, please post it
- What anti-virus are you running?
- Are you using the administrator account?
- Have you tried the suggestions above - first post (graphics card drivers, compatibility mode)?

I pasted my original issue with The SIMS 3 and Windows 10 here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/Re-SIms-3-on-Windows-10/m-p/4718024
I've tried re-running the app in compatability mode back to Windows XP SP2, as administrator... still no luck.
I took a dxdiag test, the results are here: http://pastebin.com/ZjJRG5VG
Nothing sticks out as an issue.
I think the most frustrating thing is that the app just errors out telling me to check the log (with no link/button to open it!) and when I check the log it is empty anyway.
I haven't applied the superpatch yet recommended here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Service-initialization-failed/td-p/65394
but that is next on my list if there is nothing else simple to try. I also didn't blow away my user data... as that's pretty much the only reason why I wouldn't just try to re-install.

@scunliffe37 did you update your graphics card drivers for Windows 10?
Try downloading the super patch
With reinstalling - I assume you are referring to the concern that you'll lose all your save games, etc? You can back it up if you go down that route
