Sim 3 installation problems

I am having problems with installing some of my Sims games. One Sims game that I am having trouble with installing is the Sims 3 Showtime, when I try to install This game it only gets to half way and then doesn't load any more. I have bought This game brand new from Amazon and I have on;y installed it once on my old laptop. I have also trued waiting for the insatllation bar to go across any further over a two hour period and it still doesn't go any further than half way. I was able to install it fine on my old computer and now I am unable to install it on my new laptop. I have also tried to install This game on many occasions and every time that I try to install it it only gets half way . I have been trying to install the Sims 3 showtime on my laptop ever since I have got it which is coming up to  year now and still every time it only gets half way and however long I wait it won't go any further.  I have also had This same problem with some of my other Sims games, for example the Sims 3 ambitions I was able to initial This when I first tried it on my old laptop however now I am unable to do install it on my new laptop because it only gets half way. I also had This same problem with the Sims 3 latenight, I was able to install This fine when I first tried it and when I wanted to install it on my new laptop the installation bar only got half way. I was able to finally install This after having tried for two whole years!!. My brother is also now having trouble installing the original Sims 3 base game on to his computer, he doesn't have a laptop he had a computer. This is why I don't think it is my laptop that is doing it because my brother is having the same problem as me and he has a computer not a laptop. Please can you help me to try and sort This problem out.

    Hi

Are you trying to install the digital game or the disc game?

Can you tell us the specs of the computers and laptops you are trying to install the game?

From what you said, I must inform you right away that it will be very difficult to play The Sims 3 in your brother's computer, it doesn't even near meet the minimum system requirements so right away I can say that there is no use in trying to install it in his computer.

Your laptop also doesn't meet the minimum system requirements but if you change the settings in the options menu in the game to the minimum them you should only have minor issues. This won't stop from installing the game in your laptop, just wanted to give you a feedback first. I will need to search a few things and will try to give you an answer later.

    Edit:

    1. Click Start and then type cmd in the Search box and press ENTER.
    2. A black window will open, type sfc /scannow (type it exactly as I wrote)

When the scan is complete, test to see if you can install the game.

    Thank you,

I have tried to do the cmd scan, however when I type in 'sfc/scannow', This message pops up that says, you must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility. What Does This mean? Does This mean that I have to have sims running when I do the scan?

Thank you for continuing to look for solutions to try and help me 😕mileyhappy:

I also sometimes get the a message when I am playing on my sims game that shuts the sims game down and the screen goes blank, after a few seconds it takes me back to my homescreen on my laptop and then it say windows is looking for a solution to the sims 3- sims 3 is having a problem. This has also lead to me not be able to play on one of my accounts at all because every time I log on I will play for a few seconds and This message will happen and sims will crash. I am not sure if This will have anything to do with me not being able to install some of my sims 3 game.

Click Start, and then type cmd in the Search box. Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

As for the game shutting down while you're playing, there could be a lot of reasons as to why it's doing that. It could be some program running in the background that is causing your game to go into desktop, it could be a warning from windows about something about to expire like your anti-virus software, or windows is trying to make some updates, or even an alert if you aren't running a genuine windows 7 version, all of these things launch an alert window in your PC that will cause the game to stop and go into desktop.
