Sim frozen, sim panels won't open, and more

So my sim recently got back from a vacation to Al Simhara, and has been at her home in Bridgeport for a few days. I played the game last night and everything was running smoothly, but this morning there seems to be a major glitch.

- My sim is frozen and will not move. I already tried doing Ctrl+Shift+C and typing "resetsim *," along with "moveobjects on" and then deleting my sim and undoing the action, but neither of those helped.

- The sim panels are hidden and won't appear when I click the arrow

- I can't cancel out of any of my queued actions

- My household balance is $0

And after I tried the "resetsim" cheat, saved the game and went back into it, I can't even see my sim. I just see the outside of her apartment, and it's like a rabbit hole building so that I can't move up and down floors or see the inside. Any clue how I can fix this?

Also, if the best thing to do is restore one of my old saves, how do I do it? When I googled this the instructions were confusing and didn't fit what my Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves folder looked like. I have three folders in there, being "*household name* .sims3" "*household name* .sims3.backup" and "Monte Vista.sims3" I just moved the "sims3" folder to my desktop and renamed the "sims3.backup" one to just "sims3," and now I can see inside my building and see my sim but I'm still having the same issues listed above.

My computer does have a 12th gen Intel processor, so I think that could be influencing why Sims won't open now?

I repaired my game within Origin again, and tried to launch it to no avail. I then downloaded the AlderLake patch and followed the instructions, patching TS3.exe, and the game finally launched for me. None of my saves are there, but since I haven't been playing it for long on this laptop, that doesn't bother me too much. However, would it be a good idea to just begin using the new admin account I created since the Documents folder is located in C:? That way, I can download the mods you provided for my game, which I'm not sure how to do on my original account.

@blooobagooo  I had no idea you had a 12th-gen processor and had needed to apply the patch.  (Maybe I just forgot....)  Anyway, yes, I'd use the new admin account and just transfer over your saves, if you haven't already.  It's simpler than wrestling with OneDrive.

For some reason I thought that I replied to this and then went back to look at the thread and I hadn't, sorry about that. I'll be transferring my files over to the new admin account so I can use the Documents folder in C:.

Thank you so much! It's truly amazing that you devote so much time to helping Sims 3 players with their technical issues, especially since 4 is so much more popular now. Many people wouldn't be able to play their games if not for you.
