I have bought Sims 3 delux edition in hand and lost the CD for Sims 3. So I bought Sims 3 off on steam and tried to patch expension and apparently it said I do not own sims 3. The game runs fine and all but wont let me patch any other expensions. Help?

You cannot mix the Steam version of the game with expansions you bought elsewhere.
The first thing you should do is de-install the Steam version of the base game.
Then register the base game and expansions on http://www.thesims3.com/ (you can find your game code if you right-click on the game in your Steam library).
After that download the game + expansions from Origin.
That should do the trick.
