Sims 3 - Black screen

@Sdesharnais1 Did the game ever run correctly? Is your computer a pc or mac? Do you have any cc/mods installed?
I have this same problem as well. For me, the original game had been playing just fine. It was after I installed World Adventures that my game refused to start. It kept demanding I update the game or the start button wouldn't even work. When I did update it (over and over again since they ask a million times), I just get a black screen with the mouse cursor.
- I've uninstalled and reinstalled both games already.
- I've restarted my computer.
- I have no custom content or mods that may interfere with the games performance.
- I'm on a PC.
- I installed the games manually from discs, they were not digitally downloaded.
- My game has the 1.67 version update.
- I attempt to launch the game through the World Adventures icon.
I need more than just a copied and pasted link, I need help. I just want to play my game and it feels like I'll never be able to, which really upsets me.
Me too ☹️ I just want to play my game. I'm really upset about this because i don't understand how it could go from working completely fine one day to just getting a black screen that's it, the nex dayt! I even tried downloading the Sims 4 trial to see if it would work and it doesn't. I'm at a loss ☹️
