Sims 3 - Games not showing in Origin or in Launcher

I've had my copy of The Sims 3 for several years now. I have all of the expansions except for Ambitions and Showtime. However, whenever I load up my Sims 3, my expansion packs aren't there. Origin has been tricky as I've had to make several accounts to even USE my games for some reason ( Origin would not let me install games online if I had disc copies. I was not buying the same game, for reference I was buying The Sims Medieval which it would not let me buy, forcing me to create a new account for digital purposes. )

Despite Origin being broken, I've never had a problem with my Sims 3 games ( I bought all of them via discs as Origin didn't exist at the time and I had no idea how to buy them online. ) However, recently I can't find any of my discs. Origin says that I haven't bought any and they don't appear on my launcher, HOWEVER they ARE installed onto my computer and items that I've bought from the Store are also downloaded, however they periodically uninstall themselves whenever I close the game.

I'm not sure what is happening. My game is modded, but this did not happen until now ( I've had a modded game for awhile and the packs don't disappear, nor did the Store content uninstall itself. For reference, the mods I have are NRaas' Master Controller, Integration, Mover, Story Progression, and [redacted]. I have uninstalled the mods and reinstalled the mods without any issues whatsoever. )

This situation just happened out of the blue. I'm unsure where I should go with this. My Sims 3 account and Origin are hooked together now (which is how I installed the packs in the first place since I recently got a computer that has no disc support). I'm running Windows 10.

[Edit:  Some mods can't be mentioned on EA forums.  —puzzlezaddict]

  • @simycatgirlepic  Please make sure you're using the account that has all of your TS3 games on it, and try disabling the filters in your Origin library, if you've used any.

If your content isn't showing, you can try clearing Origin's cache, or even uninstalling and reinstalling Origin entirely (the hard way), which wouldn't affect your installed games.

If this doesn't help, you may need to contact EA customer support to have someone on that end sort things out.  It would be easier if you could find your discs, and provide photos of them, as well as your cases and inserts.  But you should still be able to recover the codes themselves on your computer, or on your previous one, if you never did a clean uninstall.  The codes can be found in the registry, but please be careful not to delete or move anything there, as many entries are critical to your OS:

EA support can also merge your Origin accounts together, provided you can demonstrate ownership of all of them.

The store content issue is probably due to some corruption in your game folder.  If only premium content is affected, I'd suspect your ccmerged.package (inside DCBackup), but you could also have a corrupt .ebc file in DCCache.  To cover all of your bases, you might want to just reinstall all of your store content in a clean folder.  Pull your existing game folder out of Documents, and a new one will spawn the next time you launch the game.  Be sure to download and install no more than half a dozen store items at a time; worlds are very large files and should be handled separately, not in a batch with anything else.

Once your store content is in place, you can move your saves and other content from your old game folder to the new one.  Here's an explanation of what's in your game folder:

By the way, your NRaas mods definitely aren't causing any of these issues.

  • Thank you for all of this help. I ended up deleting all of the files and just reinstalling them, the packs reinstalling on my second account rather than the first (although they're together for some reason).
