Sims 3 - Lights Don't Come on in Houses or Buildings

I've literally put new lights in buildings over a dozen times, I've tried new games and new venues, once I quit playing a game the next time I turn it on--be it ten minutes or ten days later--the lights inside the buildings don't come on, regardless of the time of day.  In some buildings, I can't see to move the characters around.  Is there any way that this can be fixed or is it time to toss the games?  Obviously, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  • Check your visual settings. there is an option for the extent of the games effects you can see and lighting is one of them. just note that the higher you place thiese settigns the higher the chance you may have trouble playing. Unless you have a very beefy computer, pick your special effects levels with game functionality in mind on your priorities. Good luck!

Thanks--changing the setting to medium appears to have worked!  (If it turns out not to over the next few times I try and play, I'll come back and try again--but for now all appears well.)  I appreciate your assistance.
