Sims 3- Multiple active households. Help.

On The Sims 3, I started out with a family of two. Then it expanded to a family of eight. I tried to move two people out, but now, I can't control them anymore. I was wondering, is there a way on either The Sims 3 or maybe the next Sims for the user to have multiple households, and still be able to control the Sims?

  • You can turn them off in the game options.

Click on options on the menu ingame and then on the game options. They moved stuff around so you might need to check other tabs as well.

No, as it has always been with The Sims, you have one active household PERIOD. you can switch active households but, you can only have one active at a time.

    Thanks!

That's really irritating. If I switched my Active Household, back and forth, is it true that I'll loose my "progress" on those characters?

They progress on their own. You can turn off Story Progression in the options so they don't do anything drastic like get married or have children but they will still get a job and go on with their basic live.

You can also turn off aging then they stay the same age but that setting is for everyone, including your active household. You can still age them manually though.

    Hope that answers your question.

    Thanks! That really helps!

If I were to turn off aging and other things like that, where/how would I do it?

Sims has not always been that way. Only sims 3 restricts you with one active household.
