Sims 3 "70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff Pack" Question

I recently bought the 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff Pack (which I found out later was just released). Last night, I was trying without any luck, to install the SP to my base game...but when I pressed on the launcher button, the screen shows the Sims 3 loading screen for a few seconds and then...nothing! I couldn't even play the Sims 3 anymore...I spent hours uninstalling and reinstalling my base game and the 70s, 80s, &90s SP to no avail. Then I decided to start all over again by uninstalling the SP and reinstalling the World Adventures EP, which automatically updated my base game.

As of this morning, I successfully updated my base game to version 1.63.4.024001. Is this version compatible with the 70s, 80s, & 90s SP? Or will installing the 70s, 80s, & 90s SP screw up my entire Sims 3 playability again? If it's not compatible, what version must i update my base game to and where can I find this update?

Version 1.63 is the latest patch - this is good news, as it means you are now up-to-date.

You should be able to go ahead and install your stuff pack.

If you encounter further problems, it may be a question of doing a completely fresh installation.  It is horrible when this happens because it can take a long time. However I usually just make a large pot of tea and listen to some music while it's going on.  I would recommend doing a clean uninstall, then installing the base game and patching it (to 1.63), then each EP or SP in order of release, running any updates that turn up as they appear.

But hopefully you will not need to resort to reinstalling.

    Fingers crossed for you.
