Sims 3 and CAW not launching

whenever I clilck on them the EA App pops up. when I attempt to launch the game from the app, it says "preparing game" turns off for a moment then turns back on with no signs of the game launching.

I have used the "repair game" button, restarted the app and done an App recovery. still nothing.

costumer support is just this AI chat bot and its broken, it keeps giving me errors whenever I try to ask a question and I cant seem to reach an actual employee.

I am lost and I just really wanna be able to play again. what should I do?

If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

This is about Sims 3 itself, not CAW, but I think it would be best to get the game running and go from there.  It's very possible, but not definitive, that the two problems have the same underlying cause.

hello, the initial thing about moving the folders didnt help, I have attached the Dxdiag file.

If this information is relevant, my PC recently updated from windows 10 but I don't have windows 11. The sims worked fine for a while, then one day it didnt. there was another update it said that a program on my PC needs it to work, i dont know if it had anything to do with it because the same day before i updated it also didnt really work.

If that alone doesn't help, reinstall DirectX 9 as well.  You don't need to uninstall it; just run the installer over the top of the existing install and restart.  Here are more details:

An issue with either runtime would break CAW too, so hopefully you can fix both problems at once.
