Sims 3 and Windows 8 - An Analysis

I had a quick read through and wanted to reply to some of you. Many of the issues a lot of you face are not really connected to Windows 8 but rather to graphics and processor issues. This is coming from someone who have had the exact issues that a lot of you have and who just purchased a Windows 8 laptop. I don't experience as much lagging or freezing as I did with my old laptop but I do experience some lagging which have an entirely different reason. I recently did and experiment where I downloaded some specific custom content (such as hair and clothes) and the game crashed instantly after that. So if some of you do have CC, do check out if your content are corrupted. Playing with CC is really not a big thing and the game should still be able to run fine, I have played with loads of CC and mods in my old laptop and still do but it's all about finding out which ones that are causing the problem.

Finally INTEL graphics are REALLY not good with Sims 3, in my old computer I had Intel integrated graphics + a bad Nvidia card and I faced a lot of issues. Currently I have Nvidia Geforce 670MX and no Intel at all and I don't have any issues that are connected with Graphics. Again regardless of whether you got an expensive gaming laptop or not Sims 3 is an unreliable game and will always cause problems to people so just remember to save at least every 30 minutes and make sure your computer at least exceeds the minimum specs requirements for the game.

One more thing. I did previously contact the EA customer service prior to the purchase of my new laptop for help regarding Windows 8 and EA advisers are not that helpful and rather work after a manual where they will tell you that they did not test the game with Windows 8 and therefore cannot help you. However I did get a link from them and usually Windows 8 problems are related to compatibility issues rather than actual game-play, thus what Windows 7 can Windows 8 can too. Happy Simming!
