- What version of Windows 8 are you running ?
Windows 8 Pro, I believe.
- Do you have the 32 bit Version or the 64 bit one ?
64 bit
- Did you buy a new Computer and got Windows 8 on that or did you install it on your old machine ?
Brand new laptop, just got it a few days ago.
- Which of the EPs/SPs do you have installed ?
All EPs/SPs.
- What Patch level are you at (base game) ?
1.47...did not download 1.8 yet, as I can't see how it'll fix any problems I'm having.
- Do you have any Store content or CC/mods added ?
Nope, it's a completely fresh install with nothing but the game content.
- Did you try out any of the beta/consumer preview versions and did you have any issues with those ?
Nope.
- What graphic card do you have and which driver version are you running ?
Intel HD Graphics.
- What symptoms are you seeing (try to be as detailed as possible)
I didn't have any problems installing the game whatsoever. Even when the game loaded, it only took about five minutes, which is obviously great with all the expansions and packs loaded in. However, once I started playing the actual game, the screen was really dark, like low resolution (even though the brightness on my monitor is turned all the way up). Also, the game runs really slow and laggy- every few seconds, it freezes a bit. I was able to stay in the game without it crashing, but it's basically unplayble- the gameplay is slow and choppy, and the screen is so dark tha't it's hard to see anything. Every time I rotated the camera, the game started to freeze too.
- Anything else you like to add.
I've tried the compatibility views and nothing's worked thus far. I will try again tonight to disable DEP and try the compability modes again, hopefully something will work. I will wait it out and see if a patch gets released with University. I really don't think it's my computer- I even did a Will It Run? check on it and the only thing that wasn't compatible was Windows 8. This is so disappointing!
