Sims 3 can't access Original House

So my sims were at University and just did their last year. I return home and they were on a random sidewalk. I click "Go to Home" and it sends them to random lots that are not my home. To be more in-depth my original home was over a save where the original sims I had in that house disappeared. I put in another household in that same house and now out of nowhere a sim from that house reappears in the world and now has taken over my house. When I try to move into the house it doesn't show up as an option on the map.

I feel like the best option is to move to another city or start a new save. Please Help.

  • @Ryheir2000  It's possible that the game recovered the old sims, or at least one of them, and bumped your own sims to a new house.  That alone isn't a big deal: you could evict that sim and place them somewhere else, then allow your sims to move back in.  It does suggest that there might be some problems with the current save though.

If you want to bail on this save and start a new one, it's easy to save a copy of your active household to the library and place the sims in a new save.  (Make sure to quit to desktop after saving the sims and before loading the new save; don't just switch from the Main Menu.)  If you'd like to keep playing this save and the above suggestion doesn't work, please let me know what mods, if any, you use, and I'll try to help.
