Sims 3 CC uninstalling itself and not showing up in game

I've been using CC in my game for months now without any problems but I just installed the sims 3 high end loft stuff yesterday and since then, my CC keeps uninstalling itself in the launcher and isn't showing up in my game when I do install it.

I'm thinking it must have something to do with me installing the stuff pack as my game always seems to break in some way after installing a new pack, I just don't know how to fix it?

  • @clary0820  It's possible that a file in your Sims 3 user data folder was corrupted at some point when you installed the pack.  The first thing to try is deleting the five cache files in that folder, as you should do anyway whenever you install new content, whether cc or a pack.  For reference, the files are:

    •
    • CASPartCache.package
    • compositorCache.package
    • scriptCache.package
    • simCompositorCache.package
    • socialCache.package

If this doesn't help, go into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\DCCache and delete the highest numbered file that ends in .dbc.  (Don't touch the .ebc files, which are bundled store content.)  Then install one cc item and see whether it works in-game.  Let me know either way.

@puzzlezaddict I deleted the cache files and that made no difference so then I deleted the highest numbered files ending in .dbc and installed one item. This still didn't show up in game and once I closed my game and reopened my launcher it had uninstalled again.

@clary0820  Okay, the next step is rebuilding your installed custom content.  Please move your entire Sims 3 user data folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  Open the launcher to create a new folder, then download and install one cc item.  Test in-game to see whether it works, and if it does, you can install all the other cc that you've been trying to add without success.  When you're done, test again to make sure it stays installed.

If this works, please let me know how much already installed cc you have that you'd like to keep, i.e. items that haven't been disappearing.  There are a couple different ways to approach combining the contents of your old and new Sims 3 folders, and which is most convenient depends on how much content you have.
