Sims 3 Crashing on Mac (64-bit and Metal)

Hi EA team and fellow players,

I'm running The Sims 3 (64-bit & Metal) on my Intel based Macbook Pro (2017) with MacOS Ventura 13.6.9, and I'm experiencing consistent crashes just a few minutes into gameplay, usually shortly after entering Live Mode. 

Here's what I've already done:

  • Clean install of the game via EA App
  • Fully installed and reinstalled the game again, including files from library and documents
  • Confirmed it's the 64-bit & Metal version and repaired game through EA App
  • No custom content or mods are installed
  • Tried running the game in windowed mode

The game still crashes and freezes completely within a few minutes of playing. I reached out to EA Support, and while they confirmed I'm on the correct version, they weren't able to offer a solution. 

Has anyone else experienced this with a clean install on a Mac? Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

    jacobstokholm​  What world are you playing in, and does the game run better in Sunset Valley?  Please list the expansions you currently have installed, and post a screenshot of your in-game graphics settings.  You can put the game into windowed mode and use cmd-shift-4 to capture that portion of the screen.

    Please also list the full specs of your Mac: everything under About This Mac except for the serial number.
