Sims 3 DLC To EA Play - HELP

Hey!

So I got my computer setup yesterday and downloaded Origin to pull up my Library and redownload The Sims 3. I constantly kept getting the "Origin Cannot Download Game" message. After hours of research, I realized I needed to download EA Play to run the game. [I had bought Sims 3 Starter Pack that included Late Night + High End Loft Stuff]

I definitely would like to add more expansions to my game - however, EA Play does not list any expansions available for purchase or download.

My question is -

Can I buy the expansion packs I want through Origin? If so, are they going to load when I pull up my EA Play? Or do I need to buy the expansion discs and do it old school? Will EA Play support that?

Any help would be great! It's been a few years since I have played so this new system is throwing me for a loop.

Thanks!

  • @grufert  Origin and the EA App share information, so any content you purchase in Origin should work in the App as well.  Origin should also be back working sooner or later, I mean it's not like it stopped downloading any games at all, just a few older ones, so I doubt this is a permanent or intended change.

It's certainly possible that the EA App won't immediately recognize your purchase either—that's happened to a couple people registering packs in the last few days—but that should probably be resolved soon as well.  How soon, I have no idea.  I'm just saying that can't be intentional and that the App is supposed to recognize all Origin-owned content.

So yes, you can go ahead and purchase whatever DLC you want, and if it doesn't work now, it should in the near future.

Clearing the EA App's cache can also help:
