Sims 3 Does Not Launch After Installing Any Packs

Hello, I've been having an issue with my Sims 3,

I would start the game through the EA App and the launcher appears. After pressing play, my screen would go black for a few seconds and then return to the desktop. It would still show the game running on the taskbar if I were to press it, it would do the same thing by the screen going black for a second and coming back to the desktop. Then at this point, I needed to what was the problem.

After doing lots of research, uninstalling, and deleting cache files, no mods. I FOUND OUT.

The final time I reinstalled the game I did not download my expansion packs and the game WORKED. So then I went ahead and downloaded all of them again and the game was back at square one. So I reinstalled the game and ONLY downloaded One pack (seasons pack) and that didn't work, I reinstalled it again with only the generations pack. Still nothing.

I can only play the base game

ANY expansion packs breaks my game and I'm facing a wall, not knowing what to do.

I need help Please and thanks

NOTE: THIS INCLUDES STUFF PACKS AS WELL

  • @liam78945  Try forcing the game to launch in windowed mode.  Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, open Options.ini, search for fullscreen , and set it to 0 (zero).

If that doesn't help, please try disabling all your packs in the launcher's Expansion & Stuff Packs tab.  I'd like to know whether the problem is the game trying to load these packs or the fact that they've been installed at all.

I've set the full screen to (0), which has Solved the problem.

I have downloaded some packs and everything works great. I'll make sure to keep the game in windowed mode.

Thank you for your help :D

@liam78945  You can also use Windowed Borderless Gaming, which is a free tool that works well with Sims 3; or the Smooth Patch and its Borderless mode.  Your system can definitely handle the Smooth Patch overall, and it also comes with an optional fps limiter that you may find useful.  Your GPU is certainly fast enough to generate wildly high and wildly unnecessary framerates if left uncapped, although the AMD Adrenalin fps limiter could work here too.
