Sims 3 Does nothing on EA App when I select play

Selecting play will bring up "thinking" launching window and reduce EA App window but then nothing happens (not even Sims 3 Launcher) and I can select play again. The game will not launch from bin either

I have repaired the game several times. There are no mods installed. This is a fresh installation

  • Meatballsx  Try uninstalling and reinstalling .NET Framework 3.5, which, if missing or corrupt, prevents the game from launching at exactly this time and without a visible error.  Click Windows key-R, enter appwiz.cpl in the run box, click "Turn Windows features on or off," and you'll see the .NET entries near the top of the list.  Click the filled-in box next to .NET 3.5 to uninstall it, and restart your computer.  Repeat the process, clicking the now-empty box to reinstall, and restart again.  If the box is empty, install and restart.

If this doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

This worked. After a few hours of troubleshooting, nothing at all mentioned re-installing .NET, so thank you very much. You put me out of my misery lol
