Sims 3 doesn't load on EA App.

Hi all, just tried redownloading The Sims 3 onto a new laptop, to discover there is a new app called the EA App. I downloaded the game but when I go to launch it, the loading bar glitches out and then it just crashes back to the EA App screen. It won't open the game at all. Can anyone assist? I've seen lots of threads all over the place about this issue and I was hoping someone knew how to fix it by now.

    @EllisNet  Do you mean that the EA App is showing you a loading bar when first launching Sims 3, that then glitches out; or that the game's own loading bar, or one of them, is glitching before the game crashes?  Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

    As a side note, we do know how to fix most of the Sims 3 issues by now.  The trick is figuring out which one a given player has.
