I have tried and tried to get my Sims 3 game to load the launcher works and everything, but I cannot get it to do much past that... I'm not sure what's wrong I tried reinstalling origin, I think Norton my virus system may have blocked it? Pleaaaase if you have any way to help I would appreciate it I really want to play my Sims game again ☹️

Glad that worked for you. I guess that's a good solution then for everyone.

  • Still working on mine. It is getting very frustrating, trying to find the exact mod(s) I need to remove. Are you sure there is not an easier way to do this? A magical clean-up program, mod, or something. Last night I worked on it for over 4 hours and left in disgust ready to put my fist thru my computer. But, I am not giving up, even if I do have 13,995 mods. I WILL find the culprit.... lol.. 😉 Any advice appreciated.

  • Have you tried removing the largest ones first, Beth?  Or maybe removing the ones that affect gameplay the most?  Wow, 13,995 mods...

  • Yes. It is mostly all custom content, clothing and hair, a few objects and lots and 5 that are core mods. I have removed them, but they aren't the culprits, and I do update them whenever the game updates. I have never had any problems until recently. Game loaded fine, played fine, no lags, or anything last time I played, on the 11th. But, I tried playing again on the 13th (Friday the 13th, go figure), but it wouldn't load. Took out core mods, still not working. Reset to factory settings, worked fine. Added mods folder, stopped working. Had a folder of mods saved from July, so I moved  and saved my current mods folder and replaced with the July folder, worked fine. So, now I am in the process of adding them back a little at a time, but there has got to be a better way. I haven't added any new content in months, so I have no clue where to start after the core mods turned out not to be the problem. I will try the biggest ones and see if that works and look into Twallan's and thanks for the link. I will try that. Ya'll have been so helpful. Thank you so much.

  • Ok. Figured it out. As I was adding cc back into my mods folder, I noticed the date on one was 2006. Not good, considering SIms 3 technically didn't come out until 2010. So, I sorted by date and found a few that was made before 2010, so I deleted them and BAM!!! worked. Turns out I downloaded them at the same time around the end of October. I only play 3-4 times a week for only a few hours at a time, and I suffer from migraines, so sometimes I might go a week or so with out playing, so I guess it took a few loads before the game caught up with the bad content. So, I am back on track. Thanks again for everything!! Ya'll are so good at this.Oh, and I can't help it, but I am a sucker for beautiful custom content, esp. hair, clothing, and houses. My computer wouldn't be able to hold everything if I could make it myself. But, everyone does such a great job, I don't need to learn.

Good to hear but what do you mean by you have 5 core mods ? What are those ? You can't have multiple core mods (well you can to some extend).

Can you send me a PM with a list of what core mods you're using (can't really talk about it here on the forums).
